13u Pitching -

The 13U Pitching Class is geared towards students of all skill levels, ages 8 - 13.  The goal of the class is to give students drills and instruction that they can take into a game situation, as well as give them a routine they can use on a daily basis.

During the class, students will refine their mechanics to have a more consistent and effective delivery.  We also have a variety of drills that will help each student understand how to properly use their body in order to maximize their mechanics.

We will also begin on developing a change-up off speed pitch, along with learning pick-off moves, and how to field their position properly.  We want every student to learn and understand all the aspects of being a pitcher.

High School Pitching Class

This class not only works on the mechanics of pitching, but also works on the physical training that goes into become a well rounded pitcher.

Over a four week period during the class, instructors will focus on four main aspects of developing pitchers:

Mechanical Week -  We will spend time working on drills that are geared directly towards each student.  This week we are able to focus on the exact areas of need to help the make the greatest gains mechanically.

Velocity Week - During this week, students will work on drills geared towards increasing velocity.  We constantly track each students velocity and challenge them to push their limits to reach numbers they didn't know were possible.  This is a fun and exciting week at the academy.

Control Week - Students will spend time focusing on drills that improve their ability to locate their pitches.  We create situations during this week that challenge them to be the most consistent pitcher they can be.

Off-Speed Week - This is another important week in class where students develop new or improve their current pitches in preparation for the upcoming season.  Students will learn how to properly throw each pitch effectively and safely.

During every class students will also spend a portion of the class training their bodies to support the unique delivery of being a baseball pitcher.  The training aspect is an important part to help pitchers increase gains in velocity, but also help them prepare their bodies for the stress pitching creates during the long season.

Catchers Class

Our objectives and drills are challenging to each players’ ability level in many areas,  starting with the fundamentals, then progressing through advanced skills as consistency increases.

All aspects of throwing technique ( including picks from knees), Stance/Receiving (all pitches bordering the strike zone), Block and Recover (lateral blocks), Pop-up priority, all bunt plays and tag plays at home plate (footwork, glove work and wild pitches to the back stop).

We do not limit our instruction to just the physical skills of catching. We will also discuss leadership and other nuances to the position that allow our catchers to grow in there mental game along with the physical skills.  While we stress the learning of new skills through repetition, we teach anticipation and proper application to maximize performance.

Our catching sessions are level and age appropriate and we work towards teaching and challenging each catcher to his ability and skill.  This is made possible due to our small catcher to instructor ratio (3 to 1).  We feel that our catcher’s learn best in a smaller group setting with hands on instruction that allows for maximum repetitions.

Fielding Class -

Once again, our objectives and drills are challenging to each players’ ability level in many areas,  starting with the fundamentals, then progressing through advanced skills as consistency increases.  During this class our instructors will cover proper fielding position and throwing motion to all bases.  Classes week by week will cover different aspects of playing the infield such as cut-off  positioning and receiving, base covering on steals, situational positioning and double play turns.

Drills will be implemented to help students become more comfortable using their backhand, handling short-hops and attacking  slow hit balls in the infield.   We will also strive to increase agility and quickness through plyometric training and fast repetition drills.
