Pitching and Presence

Pitching is the largest asset to any successful team. I am aware of how much hard work and effort it takes to become a dominate force against any line-up. Our focus with students will be to build leg and core strength, increase arm speed and improve accuracy. Repetition is key when it comes to developing accuracy and velocity. Here, students will develop proper pitching mechanics as well as learn and understand the mental approach to pitching.

 

Prior to throwing a bullpen, drills will be designed to work on fundamental mechanics, body weight control, linear movements and arm speed enhancement. Muscle groups such as abdominals, forearms and legs will be worked out through light weight training and Plyometrics.

 

Pitch development will be limited to fastball and change-up. I personally believe success in pitching as all about location, location, location. With that being said, a well-located fastball is complimented perfectly with a simple off-speed pitch that provides little to no strain on a young arm.

 

Whether a student wants to step on the mound for the first time next year or wants to go into next season with something to show. This pitching course will take him to the next level.
